Senior Physiotherapist
BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy | Post Grad Cert (Osteoporosis)
Originally from the UK, Rabia Shah graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2001 and has been enhancing her expertise in Singapore for over 15 years. She is a staunch advocate for a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare, which led her to join a team of seasoned practitioners at her current practice.
Rabia is committed to providing holistic, evidence-based treatment. She utilises hands-on manual therapies, including joint mobilisation and soft tissue techniques, coupled with corrective exercises and educational strategies to directly address the root causes of pain. Her practice emphasises not only immediate relief but also long-term health empowerment for her patients.
She has specialised expertise in Women’s Health, tackling conditions such as Diastasis Recti, pelvic floor dysfunctions, incontinence, and pelvic pain. Rabia is also skilled in general musculoskeletal conditions, pre and post-natal physiotherapy, Clinical Pilates, and mindfulness-based health strategies. Each of her treatment sessions begins with a comprehensive assessment, followed by detailed explanations of the anatomy and function relevant to the patient’s condition, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
Rabia is particularly passionate about treating complex pain disorders. Her approach to chronic pain management incorporates the latest in therapeutic neuroscience to modify neuroplasticity, aiming to calm over-active danger signals in the brain and nervous system. Her methods include Therapeutic Neuroscience Education, Mindfulness for Pain, and Mindful Movement techniques.
To support continued progress outside of her clinic, Rabia provides patients with a personalised Home Exercise Program. This program includes videos, pictures, and detailed instructions tailored to ensure that the correct muscles are targeted effectively in both work and home environments.
Rabia’s deep commitment to her patients and her broad skill set make her a vital resource for those seeking comprehensive, informed, and compassionate care in physiotherapy.
